Valerie Cardenas, CEO
Valerie Cardenas, founder of Strategic Essentials, has over 30 years experience as an entrepreneur, having owned and operated several businesses in California. LMI processes led to national recognition for her partnering relationships with clients and dramatic increases in cross-selling revenues. Presently, Valerie partners with clients to focus on what matters most through LMI's Strategic Development Process that includes awareness as the key to change, strategic planning, results management and staff development to unlock untapped potential.
Valerie holds certifications in LMI's Fast Start Training School, Facilitation I and II, Assessments & Advanced Assessment Training and is a certified Master Facilitator. Valerie has been an active member of WeAct - an organization formed to advance women in business through professional development. Through WeAct, she has taken several protégés under her wing and mentored them in major career transitions. Currently, she is Chair of the WeAct Professional Development Committee and is overseeing the upcoming WeAct Summit in 2006, partnerships with local colleges & universities, creation of a resource bank for women's professional development and overseeing the very popular WeAct Blender Series. Former community involvement includes: Chair of the Education Committee for ProNet and Board Member of RenoBiz.

Richard (Dick) Corso
Richard (Dick) Corso has been in the Organizational Development Industry for over 35 years with extensive experience in Sales and Executive Management. He currently owns seven businesses, including one he's owned for close to 30 years!

Dick worked with the first multi-billionaire as a business consultant and coach. As a well-known international speaker and trainer, he has presented to and trained many of the Fortune 500 companies in America. His sales and entrepreneurial skills have ranked him in the top 1% of people in each of the three industries that he has been involved. Dick has served as Director on numerous boards for charitable, higher education and for-profit organizations.

The History of LMI
In 1966, Texas entrepreneur Paul J. Meyer founded Leadership Motivation, Inc. (LMI). LMI was originally designed as a sales division for marketing management and leadership development programs.
By 1970 Meyer's products were permanent fixtures in the personal and management development marketplace. LMI - now Leadership Management, Inc. - grew at a rapid pace. LMI President David Byrd and other company executives discerned the marketplace need for strategic planning and methods, including a common-sense approach to planning and a new focus on effective, ethical leadership.
